I purchased this book several years ago when my mother-in-law passed away. We were all very close with her and I knew “Lightning” would have questions. I searched for a book to help deal with some questions. After much search I stumbled upon this book and immediately felt it was the book for us. Since that time my daughter has asked about her “Abu” up in heaven, along with her turtle, Reese’s Pieces, and this book has been our go to book. The basic premise of the book is about a boy who lost his Grandpa and is trying to figure out what his grandfather is experiencing in heaven. He asks several people and gets various answers, all which give the view of what each person imagines heaven is like. Bottom line is heaven is everything you love right here on earth, but up in heaven you are free from pain, fear and other worldly problems. Well, we have recently had another loss in our life, our beloved dog Bailey of 19 years. Bailey came into my life at 5 weeks of age and left me at the ripe old age of 19 years 7 months and 19 days. Needless to say he has been in “Lightning’s” life since the day she was born. He cried with her the first night she was home and checked her bedroom every night for as long as he was able before he went to sleep. After he passed “Lightning” sensed my sadness, she started telling me all the things Bailey would be doing up in heaven, just like the book discusses. If this doesn’t rank a book high on my level, I don’t know what else would. The book resonated so much with her that she was able to recall it on her own and extrapolate information to try to soothe my feelings.
